Lukee Treats

Our boy loves his treats. There are a few strategies to rewarding and distracting Lukee with nummins.

Mini Milk Bones

Give at least three after every pill session — they wash the cookie bite down.

They're also the best distraction out in the world: when another dog comes by on a walk, or when the Amazon truck pulls up.

Comfort Chews

One or two a day, spread out. At least half of one 30 minutes to an hour after dinner — so somewhere around 5:00 to 5:30 PM. See Troubles for why that timing earns its keep.

Dunkin Donut Treats

Half a donut after his 9:30 PM pills.

Frozen Kongs

There's a container of frozen bone broth cubes in the freezer — help yourself. The little ones drop straight into his Kong, no cutting, no thinking about it. Good for about a 20 minute distraction, around 8:00 PM.

To make more: we freeze chicken bone broth in the mini cube trays. The big yellow tray still works too — just cut one of those cubes in half to fit the little Kong.
